The first Uzbekistan–Georgia Tourism Business Forum took place in Samarkand, bringing together tourism businesses from both countries to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

The forum focused on developing joint tourism products, increasing mutual tourist flows and building direct commercial partnerships between Georgian and Uzbek companies. More than 10 leading Georgian tourism companies were expected to participate, alongside representatives of Uzbekistan's tourism industry.

Discussions highlighted opportunities across cultural, pilgrimage, gastronomic, eco and business tourism, as well as stronger direct air connectivity, cooperation between tour operators and joint media tours.

The part that matters most

Following the official programme, Georgian and Uzbek tourism businesses held B2B meetings to discuss potential joint projects.

For Georgia and Uzbekistan, the significance goes beyond tourism. Bilateral agreements, memoranda and government-level frameworks set the conditions for cooperation, but they do not by themselves produce commercial activity.

That happens when two companies sit down and find a reason to work together.

Direct B2B engagement is where bilateral relationships begin to translate into partnerships, projects and real economic activity — and where the results become measurable.

Tourism is also a useful leading indicator. Air connectivity, tour operator relationships and traveller flows tend to move before broader trade does, and they build the familiarity that later makes other kinds of business easier.

TWO MARKETS. MORE CONNECTIONS. NEW OPPORTUNITIES.
